The collaboration between the two companies originates from the end of the last century. Hartman Marine Group (named Hartman Marine at that time) ordered a Conoship designed 2.850 tdw MP vessel at Conoship member shipyard Tille Scheepsbouw in Kootstertille, The Netherlands. After a few years the Hartman Marine Group initiated a new concept of a fast MP heavy lift vessel design with cranes and again collaboration with Conoship took place and resulted in a maiden trip of Conoship’s ‘Hartman Trader 18’ design in 2006. This vessel, the fastest vessel in it’s class and the successor of the 2.850 tdw vessel, was also named “DEO VOLENTE”. She got three sister vessels of which the last one was delivered in 2011. The names of these vessels are MV’s “EENDRACHT”, “PACIFIC DAWN” and “ATLANTIC” respectively. This prestigious design received the “ship of the year award” by KNVTS (Dutch association of naval architects and marine engineers) for its innovative aspects and operational performance. In 2010 Conoship International was again awarded with the design of a series of new generation project cargo vessels. The changes in cargo demands and transport models and the lack of fit-for-purpose vessels were recognised by Hartman Marine Group and together with Conoship a new vessel concept was developed into a naval architectural design. The design features an extremely big and flush type maindeck and has a maximized cargo hold within the 3000 GT limits. Hull form development and propulsion optimalisation were performed by Conoship. Tank model testing showed the feasibility of sailing in “open top” condition with a considerable amount of 3.000 tdw. Another remarkable aspect is the width of the cargo hold of 12,50 m in its relation to vessels’ breadth of 15,00 m. The accommodation and wheehouse are situated at Starboard Side aft and are the funnel is not protruding the main deck, allowing an unobstructed free deck length of 90.00 m. The main deck width ranges from board to board and the pontoon type hatch covers are of flush type and well integrated in the maindeck construction, allowing a load of 3,5 t/m2 over the entire area. The full tweendeck in the cargo hold is designed for 2,5 t/m2 over the entire area. The cargo hold is equipped for dangerous goods and IMO 1.1 fitted accordingly. The ship construction is drawn by Vuyk Engineering Groningen BV. The steel hull is built in Poland and MV “OCEANIC” will be completed for Global Seatrade BV by Hartman Marine Shipbuilding, both subsidiaries of the Hartman Marine Group.

Foto: ZechDie Werft Partner Stocznia hat in Police/Szczecin einen weiteren Neubaukasko für die Hartman Marine Group erstellt. Bei der schon teilausgerüsteten „Oceanic“, die jetzt zur Komplettierung nach Urk geschleppt wurde, handelt es sich um das erste Exemplar eines innovativen Typs für den Transport von Windkraftrotoren und sonstiger sperriger oder voluminöser Projekt-/Schwergutladung. Das voraussichtlich Ende Juli in Fahrt kommende Schiff kann bei Bedarf auch mit offenem Laderaum eingesetzt werden. Mehr: Im "THB Täglicher Hafenbericht"
